I’m pleased to announce that, currently, things are still moving along smoothly, though there’s still a lot of work to catch up on. At least I finally have a chance to sit down and get some writing done, albeit at the very last minute…
Chapter 5 – Part 1 is now in The Workshop
It still needs a title, and I haven’t thought of a chapter image for it either, but, at least the main content is there! I’m behind schedule on writing chapters, partly due to being busy, but also partly due to low votes/inconclusive results. I plan on boosting the latter next, but in the meantime, I hope to get Parts 2 and 3 of Chapter 5 up ASAP, preferably before the end of this week. Bear in mind they haven’t been written yet, though I know what’s supposed to be in them. It’s all just a matter of time. I’ll see if we can get back to where we’re supposed to be schedule-wise, or at least somewhere close.
TTS narration up to date, PringleWings narration coming soon
Despite having the audio files sitting there, ready for editing, that didn’t and still hasn’t happened yet. However, I did get around to creating the TTS versions for all the latest workshop chapters, so at least those are available. Editing PringleWing’s narration is super high on the list of priorities right now, so I want to get that sorted soon too. We did run into a bit of an issue and will need to re-record one of the parts for Chapter 4, so there might be a temporary TTS gap while we take care of that one.
Auditorium update complete
I completed the Auditorium update! More or less; there are a couple of tweaks I need to make, including a minor bug fix, but at this moment, it works much better than before, and makes it easier to navigate through the chapters, as well as resuming where you left off last time. I also was able to swap out all the old AI image placeholders, and set it so that, upon uploading the written version of the chapter to The WorkShop, the audio version is immediately available in the Auditorium. That’s one less delay source for me to worry about!
Council room cleanup
The Council Room is still not up to date yet. My bad! A bunch of the latest polls are still missing, so I need to add those. However, the most recent vote from chapter 5 part 1 is there. I gotta get back to adding the polls there immediately upon uploading a chapter part, as I don’t think there any automatic method for that. I’ll see, though!
Cats, still everywhere
Cat-based shenanigans continue, and while I haven’t started posting about them on my socials in earnest yet, I DID sort through all the pic and vids I have so far, so it’s only a matter of time before I start spamming! Just you wait ’til I have time to take more frequent, better-quality photos! I got a new camera too, so I’ll be putting that to the test.
Community building
I want to focus much more heavily on building up the community and gathering it together in a centralised location, as well as encouraging more feedback, as well as interaction between readers. Currently, readers are scattered across multiple platforms, and I haven’t been posting anywhere near as much as I should on social media, nor DEMANDING PEOPLE COMMENT encouraging people to leave comments on chapters, but that’s something I want/need to change. I’ve been meaning to try out the new features on Patreon, so now is as good a time as any to try that. Did I mention before that I have a Patreon? Almost certainly not, so that’s another type of thing I need to stop doing. To be fair, it IS mostly focused on RanGen, and a little outdated, but, I’ll be updating it soon to include RanGen, DunGen and PetGen stuff as well. In case you’re not aware, Patreon isn’t just for paying members; there’s a free tier too, so I plan to make plenty available for everyone as I go. Rewards, behind the scenes, Q&As, bloopers and unique collaboration opportunities… All of this, coming soon, so feel free to head on over there now and get settled while I finish sorting things out!
Now, I’m going to finish uploading where I need to, start dusting off the ol’ socials and updating them, then I’ll get back to writing and editing audio.
