It’s high time I made an update!

I plan to post these more often, though I tend to say that basically every week. I keep trying to complete every step of every phase before I feel like an update is allowed, but I need to keep reminding myself that posting while stuff is still in the works is fine too. So, here we are: a quick update in the middle of what I’m doing. Hopefully, I’ll get into the habit of it and will post more frequent updates Soon™.

Latest Chapters

The writing of chapters has been continuing steadily, but has been a little slower than intended due to necessary pauses for a lot of world-building in the background. I’m behind schedule for the April uploads, but I plan to release the delayed parts on the 1st of May, assuming I can get them all written and uploaded by then…

Narration back on the menu

Most of the latest parts are still in the Workshop due to not having narration, artwork and sometimes even titles. However, good news! After a hiatus for personal reasons, the Narrator, PringleWings, is back on the scene, so recording has resumed. All that’s left is for me to edit the audio and add the background ambience. I also added titles to the chapters that were missing ones, so those chapters will be moved into the Library once that’s done. I still need to decide on what the art pieces should be, though, but I’ll deal with that later.

Auditorium Update

Speaking of recordings, I need to update the Auditorium. It had a few quirks, but worked well enough when there was 1 volume. Now that we’re on Volume 2, it needs an update to make it easier to move between them and to access the relevant chapters. Also, there’s a minor visual bug that needs to be dealt with, and I never did get around to replacing the AI placeholder images with the sketches, so that’s also on my to-do list. Here’s hoping my meddling doesn’t break everything.

Ongoing Polls

I also need to update the Council Room. There have been a lot of new votes since the last one I added, so I gotta get back on track and make sure it’s up to date; there are many votes that are still active, whose outcomes have yet to be decided.

Collaborators wanted!

When it comes to deciding what happens next, the power is in your hands. The readers collectively cast their votes, but I also consider individual suggestions as well, so be sure to get in touch or leave a comment if you have an idea. Aside from that, if you’re curious to see how you or your own character would fare in Derna, let me know! The more the merrier, and depending on the outcome, you/your character may have an effect on the world around them, and may even run into Main Character Valine herself! Who knows?

Cats, everywhere

Lastly, partly why I’ve been off schedule lately is due to cat-related shenanigans. Kitten fostering is quite a process, and they and their cheeky little paws getting into everything certainly keep me busy; if you’re interested in seeing what the kittens, as well as my senior cat Misty, get up to, consider following my PetGen account on Bluesky; I plan to post on there more frequently, and have a million, billion pics and videos available, so I’ll get the ball rolling on that again shortly.

For now, that’s all. I’m going to get on with some of the things I mentioned now, and will be working on the others over the coming days. Place your bets as to whether I’ll have my act together in time for May 1st. Also, send help.
